October saw the rise of artists from Quebec, such as Marie-Chantal Toupin, with her album "Maudit Bordel" (DEP Distribution Exclusive Ltee), and Dany Bedar, with his album "Fruit de ma Réconte Nuit Blanch" (Distribution Select), who have both achieved Gold status.
Michael Bublé's album "Michael Bublé" (Warner Music Canada Lt.) hit Platinum, with 100,000 copies shipped.
Three Canadian compilation albums have also ranked high. "O Canada - A Canadian Celebration" (Peros Music Inc), reached Platinum status, while "Canadian Idol Greatest Moments" (BMG Canada/ViK) and the "Juno Awards 2003" (EMI Music Canada) both hit Gold status.
The highest certified recording this month was Madonna's "The Immaculate Collection" (Warner Music Canada), which was certified seven times Platinum.
