International recording artists Shakira and 50 Cent scored multiple platinum this month. Shakira’s "Laundry Service" (Sony/Columbia) clocked in at Quintuple Platinum with 500,000 units and 50 Cent’s "Get Rich or Die Tryin’", (Universal) reached Quadruple Platinum with 400,000 units.
Metallica’s "St. Anger", (Warner/Elektra), Various Artists on "The Blue Box Best of Blue Note", (EMI/BlueNote) and Linkin Park’s "Meteora & Meteora Ltd. Ed." (Warner) each scored Double Platinum with 200,000 units.
Canada’s Simple Plan hit the 100,000 Platinum mark with "No Pads No Helmets... Just Balls" (Warner).

CRIA’s membership is comprised of the major record companies, leading independent labels, and all manufacturers of compact discs and tapes. In all they represent 95% of the sound recordings that are manufactured and sold in Canada.
